About The Program
Ohio’s Aspire programs provide FREE services through classes at flexible locations on different days and at various times to meet diverse needs. All adult learners are required to attend an orientation where an assessment is given to help determine the individual’s educational needs and goals.
Programs offered both in-person and online:
- HSE preparation classes
- Life skills, employability skills, and computer literacy
- Workplace Education — education services offered in collaboration with an employer to increase the productivity of the workforce
- Corrections Education — a partnership with jails, detention centers, community-based rehabilitation centers, or other similar institutions
- Distance Education — enhancing learning using technology
- Job training and certification preparation classes
The instruction is designed to proceed at a comfortable pace that best meets the needs of the adult learner. We want our adult learners to succeed, and we welcome the opportunity to assist in your educational goals.

About The Program
Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) increases access and affordability to Computer Science (CS) education for students K-16. With four key components of K-8 inspiration, high school CS courses, college scholarships, and professional internships, AFE creates opportunities in all stages of a student’s journey from learning CS to starting their first job” “Amazon and Edhesive are partnering to address the gap in access to CS education in high school by sponsoring teachers and administrators who demonstrate financial need and are committed to bringing CS to their schools.

Credit Submission
At the completion of the program, the instructor is to complete a Credit Submission sheet and turn it into the Curriculum & Instructor Director. Curriculum & Instructor Director will arrange a meeting with necessary Teacher of Record(s) to review course work and sign off on the credit. Once all parties agree and sign Credit Submission Form, Curriculum and Instruction Director will turn it into Academic Affairs. The grade(s) will be awarded within 48hrs of completion. Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded the following credit:

*House Bill 170 supports Computer Science. For the 2018-2019 SY, it is up to districts on how they award credit. Algebra II has already been voted in. 2019-2020 computer science standards will be in effect*
About The Program
Comp TIA is a great initial learning tool giving the ground work of all computer and Technology Learning. By giving a ground work and providing hands on teaching we will be able to educate and engage with our students.

About The Program
Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have learned to function in a real-world construction work environment: i.e. being a part of a supervised work crew, getting their hands (in work gloves) dirty, receiving instructions and having to carry them out in a timely manner, carrying heavy stuff, using a port-a-john, packing their lunch, arriving on time and ready to work, etc. They will see firsthand some of the rewards of construction in helping to transform a home and seeing the vision of what they can accomplish with their own hands with proper instruction.

- Overcoming obstacles to employment– Getting license and transportation secure, Construction Math and English skills, etc. * Students MUST begin working toward obtaining a license and transportation at this point and throughout the time of instruction.
CPR & OSHA 10 certifications:
- 5 hours of CPR- 2 classes/10 hours of OSHA- 3 classes
- Students will come away with an understanding of the “Safety first” aspect of construction as it applies to many of the allied construction trades.

Whether you plan to become a nurse, medical assistant, or pursue another health profession, AUS provides the foundation you need to make a difference in people’s lives and build a rewarding career in health care.
NURSING COURSES & CERTIFICATIONS
STNA
State Tested Nurse Aide program will be five weeks in length starting October 1, 2019 every Tuesday and Thursday with six (6) hours of class time to equal the required sixty (60) hours class as well as fifteen (15) off site clinical hours, with an expected end date of October 31, 2019. STNA program is also an approved Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) through the Ohio Department of Health. Students will learn the basis of patient care for adult populations such as the elderly and the disabled; they will learn to respect Resident’s Rights; they will learn proper and effective communication; and students will come to understand their role in the “care team” and working alongside other professionals such as nurses and therapists.

Phlebotomy
Students can become Certified Phlebotomy Technicians in as little as six weeks. Classes will begin on November 5, 2019, every Tuesday and Thursday with six (6) hours of class time to equal the required ninety (90) hours. Students will learn about Resident’s Rights in this class as well, along with proper blood draw technique (venipuncture), medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, structure and function of the blood , blood collection “do’s” and “don’ts”, professionalism, communication, and team-building. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to sit for the national exam if they so choose.

Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG)
EKG program is an exciting one! Participants of this program can become certified in this budding career field and work alongside doctors to help diagnose heart conditions and diseases. A certification in this little known area will put students ahead of the competition. The course is six weeks long, with a start date of January 7, 2020 with six (6) hours of class time on Tuesdays and Thursday; to equal a total of fifty (50) required hours with an expected end date of February 6, 2020 . Students will learn how to coordinate, plan, and deliver patient care by performing electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG) and stress testing. Professionalism and communication techniques are at the core of all of our programs; students will also learn the “in’s” and “out’s” of the heart, EKG readings, medical ethics, and legal aspects of patient contact. The ASPT-Electrocardiograph Technician exam and other National Certification exams are options after completion.

Patient Care Technician (PCT) Pathway
Students who become certified in all three career fields can sit for the Patient Care Technician (PCT) exam to become certified as multi-skilled technicians! What is a Patient Care Technician? A Patient Care Technician assists nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. They perform the duties of an STNA but are also trained in the skills of basic medical duties, such as taking EKG readings and performing venipuncture (Phlebotomy). PCT Pathway gets students ahead of the game! Participants of this program will become certified in all three of our core programs to become more marketable in the healthcare industry. Students who are interested in the PCT Pathway can start any class that they’d like first. There is a variety of combinations that students can take based on their schedules, interests, and needs. Students can complete the pathway between six and 14 weeks. It’s up to them! Students will learn all the essentials previously mentioned for patient care, venipuncture and heart rhythm interpretation and monitoring, legal issues, and effective communication. Upon completion, students will be eligible to start work and sit for the PCT National Certification if they so choose. This will allow them to transfer their credentials across the country!
